For over 75 years, Bray & Company has been committed to giving back to the local community – through volunteering and financial support of many different nonprofit organizations.
The Bray Cares Foundation was created to help serve housing-related needs on the Western Slope with grant opportunities, such as:
“Over the years, our company has contributed to a variety of organizations here in the community. We think it is time to focus our efforts a little more and increase both our funding and our leadership in the area of housing-related needs in Mesa County,” says Robert Bray, CEO.
The Bray Cares Foundation offers grant funding managed by the Western Colorado Community Foundation and organizations may apply for funding through an annual, competitive grant application process.
A community united for shelter and dignity.
On a rainy Friday October 10th, HomewardBound of the Grand Valley announced that it would be closing its emergency shelter on the weekends. In a collective effort spearheaded by The Bray Cares Foundation in just one week, our community rallied together to support HomewardBound , raising over $75,000. The effort gained momentum to an individual contribution by a Bray agent of $20,000 that was matched by The Bray Cares foundation. This started a ‘snow ball effect’ of local businesses, organizations and private donors generously contributing to keep the doors open 7 days a week through the winter. Thanks to generous donors, businesses, and neighbors, vulnerable individuals and families will continue to have a warm, safe place to stay during the coldest months.
